On the evening of November 6, the China-Argentina Red Wine Online Matchmaking Meeting of the 3rd China International Import Expo was successfully held on the Bank of China one-on-one "cloud" talks platform. The Matchmaking Meeting is co-hosted by the Ministry of Productive Development of Argentina, the Chinese Embassy in Argentina and the Bank of China. 20 exporters of Argentine red wine and nearly 100 Chinese wine importers attended. Vice Minister of Commerce Wang Bingnan and other guests delivered video messages.

Wang Bingnan noted that President Xi Jinping pointed out that China and Argentina are good friends, good partners and good soulmates. China and Argentina have held online matchmaking meetings in an innovative way amidst the pandemic, demonstrating to the outside world the positive attitude and confidence of the political and business communities of the two sides to overcome difficulties and work together in solidarity. China and Argentina have strong economic complementarity and great cooperation potential. From January to September this year, Argentina's exports to China bucked the trend, up 8.3% year-on-year, with lemons, mutton, peas and other high-quality agricultural products gaining access to China one after another. Red wine is Argentina’s specialty product. With the increasing consumption demand in the Chinese market, the future trade of red wine between the two countries has great potential. It is hoped that the Argentine side will grasp this opportunity and actively expand its exports to China.

Wang Bingnan pointed out that President Xi Jinping has said that China will comprehensively raise the level of its opening to the outside world and accelerate the formation of a new development pattern with domestic circulation as the mainstay and mutual reinforcement of domestic and international development. China's open door to the outside world will not be closed, it will only get wider and wider. In the face of the impact of the pandemic, the 3rd China International Import Expo was held as scheduled, fully demonstrating China's determination to expand openness, share large markets with all countries and jointly promote the recovery of the world economy. We welcome the Argentine government and enterprises to strengthen effective connection with China through the Expo and other international cooperation platforms to ensure smooth supply chains and push more quality and specialty products to China and the global market for mutual benefits and win-win results.
