Wang Bingnan, male and of Han ethnicity, was born in Changyi, Shandong Province in Sept. 1961. He started his career in Aug. 1984 and joined the CPC in Jun. 1983. Wang holds a master degree, an MBA and the title of senior engineer.
Wang worked successively as the Deputy Secretary (deputy division director-level) of the Youth League and the Chief (division director-level) for Youth Work and Secretary of the Youth League of the Ministry of Mechanic and Electronic Industry, and Deputy General Manager of Dalian Bingshan Group. He was appointed Deputy Chief (DDG-level) of the Logistics Service Bureau of the Ministry of Mechanic and Electronic Industry in Jul. 1995 and Head (DG) of the General Office (Department of Foreign Affairs), Chief of the Logistics Service Bureau, and CPC Committee Secretary (DG-level) of the State Bureau of Machine Building Industry in Sept. 1998. He started to serve as Deputy Chief (DG-level) of the General Office of the State Economic and Trade Commission in Nov. 2000. Wang was appointed Secretary-General (DG-level) of the National Leadership Group for Rectifying and Standardizing Market Economic Order in Sept. 2002. Starting from Oct. 2003, Wang began to work with the Ministry of Commerce and served as CPC Committee Deputy Secretary (DG-level). He was named Director-General for Market Operation in May 2009 and DG for Market System Development in Jun. 2011. He was promoted to Assistant Minister and member of the CPC Leadership Group of MOFCOM in August 2013. He was appointed member of the CPC Leadership Group of MOFCOM and Vice Minister in June 2017.
